In midfield, there is also a duo of changes, with James McClean coming in for Aiden McGeady, and Glenn Whelan starting in place of Keith Andrews in central midfield.

Up front, Trapattoni has gone for a new strike partnership with Simon Cox and Shane Long starting in place of Robbie Keane and Jon Walters.

Ireland XI to play Greece at Aviva Stadium, kick-off 19:45: Westwood, Coleman, O'Shea, Clark, Ward, McClean, Whelan, McCarthy, Brady, Cox, Long.

Wes Hoolahan will have to make do with a seat on the bench with Trapattoni having indicated he will be involved in the second half.
