Connacht have been handed a timely boost ahead of their Heineken Cup trip to Biarritz with the news that the Basque club have removed head coach Jack Isaac from his position.
The Westerners stunned Biarritz at the Sportsground on Friday when they claimed a fully deserved 22-14 victory and that result appears to have been the final straw for club president Serge Blanco.
A statement from Biarritz revealed that Isaac and fellow coach Serge Milhas have both been removed from their positions.
The club claim that this is a 'temporary exemption' to last until 6 January, however it is almost certain that neither Isaac or Milhas will return to their postitions.
Athletic director Laurent Rodriguez and training centre director Rourre Mathieu have been placed in charge in caretaker roles.
The Basque club have endured a stuttering season, losing eight of their last eleven games which included a six-game losing streak between September and November.
There will be full live coverage of Biarritz v Connacht on a specially extended Sport at Seven on RTÉ Radio 1 on Friday 14 December from 7pm.
