Top seeds advance to semi-finals in Baldoyle

Ireland's Scott Evans and Chloe Magee, the top seeds, are both through to the semi-finals of the Carlton Irish Badminton Open at Baldoyle.

In the men's singles, Evans beat German Marcel Reuter 21-12, 21-8 in this morning's quarter-finals to advance to the last four.

Magee is through to the ladies' semi-finals.

She faces Beatriz Corrales of Spain having beaten England's Sarah Milne 24-22, 21-14 in this morning's quarter finals.

There was, however, disappointment in the mixed doubles as Chloe Magee and her brother Sam - who had been seeded two - were beaten in a thrilling quarter-final going down 21-16, 13,-21, 26-24 to fifth seeded Germans Max Schwenger and Carla Nelte.
