Eoin Cadogan has questioned the decision to axe Donal Óg Cusack from the Cork squad.
The dual code player, who revealed last month he will focus solely on football with the Rebels this year, tweeted that he found Cork manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy's decision strange.
He was critical of the fact that a man who had spent nine months working towards a recovery did not get the chance to fight for his place on the panel.
Barry-Murphy is expected to rely on Kanturk's Anthony Nash, who won an All-Star last season, and Ballymartle man Darren McCarthy during the campaign, although the official panel has yet to be finalised.
Cusack, who missed all of last year's All-Ireland campaign with an Achilles injury sustained in the league, has won three All-Ireland SHC titles with the county, five provincial titles and a National League.
The 35-year-old is currently leading a party of high-profile GAA figures in a rebuilding programme targeted at restoring sports facilities to Breezy Point, the New York neighbourhood devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
