Crossmaglen management team steps down

The joint-managers of Crossmaglen Rangers, Tony McEntee and Gareth O'Neill, have stepped down from their posts after three years in charge.

Coach Seamus McGowan has also stepped down.

During their reign, the Armagh club won All-Ireland titles in 2011 and 2012, as well as three consecutive UIster Championships and three Armagh county titles.

However, Crossmaglen Rangers' dreams of a third All-Ireland club title in a row ended at the semi-final stage this season, with defeat to St Brigid's.

The Roscommon champions had a 2-7 to 1-09 win at Cusack Park last month.

McEntee and O'Neill cited family commitments as the reason for stepping down. Both managers will continue to coach at underage level.

The defeat also saw the final appearance of Armagh and Crossmaglen legend Oisín McConville.

The 37-year-old called it a day with Crossmaglen Rangers after winning a total of six All-Ireland titles in a 20-year playing career with the club.
