Murray: Kilcormac-Kil' will 'take real beating'

St Thomas' captain Robert Murray says that his team will have play to their full potential if they are to claim All-Ireland glory.

The Galway champions face Offaly's Kilcormac-Killoughey in Sunday's Club hurling final with both sides bidding for maiden Tommy Moore Cup titles.

Murray told RTÉ Sport: "We just have to be on top of and focused on our own game. They're really going to put up a fight, they are in the same boat as we are.

"We're new to it as well and they want the very same as us. We're going to give it our all and hopefully that will be just that little bit better than Kilcormac's.

"They'll take real beating. They are a real big, strong team, they are fantastic hurlers. No-one thought it would be a St Thomas'-Kilcormac-Killoughey final. You can't take any team for granted at this stage."

While it's not unusual to have brothers on the same team, the Galway men boast six sets of siblings on the panel. Murray says this creates a different dynamic.

"It's great that we've six brothers there, six Burkes and three Murrays, three Cooneys and a few Kellys. There is a bond there that's different from just playing with friends and neighbours, it's stronger, I think," he added.

Throw-in in Croke Park is 2pm.
