White rules himself out of Ireland job

Jake White has ruled himself out of contention for the Ireland manager's job and reiterated his desire to remain in Super Rugby with the Brumbies.

White, who led South Africa to a World Cup triumph in 2007, says he declined an interview with the IRFU earlier this week as he wants to remain in Australia.

"I'm not available [for the Ireland job], I've made it quite clear that I've got a Brumbies contract and I'm here with a job to do," White said on www.smh.com.au.

"I'm happy here, I'm coaching boys in Australia and I'm enjoying that.

"I'm really not in the market for every coaching job that pops up, I'm focusing on the Brumbies and making them better and in turn making Australian rugby better which is one of my briefs as a Super 15 coach in Australia."

The IRFU began their interview process for Declan Kidney's successor yesterday, with Leinster boss Joe Schmidt the front-runner for the position and Queensland Reds boss Ewen McKenzie also fancied.
