World number two Mark Selby booked his place in the Australian Goldfields Open quarter-finals in comfortable fashion today with a 5-1 victory over Zhang Anda.
Selby's win in Bendigo set up a last-eight meeting with Mark Davis, who got through via a 5-3 win against Alfie Burden.
Earlier in the day, defending champion and 2013 World Championship runner-up Barry Hawkins was beaten 5-4 in his clash with Tom Ford.
Ford's quarter-final match will be against Robert Milkins, a 5-2 victor today over Rory McLeod.
Shaun Murphy, the 2005 Crucible champion currently ranked fourth in the world, was another notable second-round casualty as he lost 5-2 to Hong Kong's Marco Fu, who will now face Welshman Dominic Dale for a place in the semis.
The day's other match saw Joe Perry advance to a last-eight encounter with Australia's world number one Neil Robertson by triumphing 5-3 against Stuart Bingham.
