Chelsea's Luiz ruled out of Villa game

Defender David Luiz will miss Chelsea's Premier League clash with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge through injury.

Brazil centre-back Luiz has a hamstring problem, but could return for Monday's trip to Old Trafford.

Young Czech defender Tomas Kalas is the only other absentee, as he suffered a fractured leg in pre-season.

Manager Jose Mourinho may opt to make a number of changes from the side which began last Sunday's 2-0 win over Hull, with next Monday's game with Manchester United in mind.

Meanwhile, Nathan Baker is missing for Aston Villa with an ankle injury.

The centre-back was forced off during Villa's 3-1 win at Arsenal on Saturday and was replaced by Ciaran Clark, who should start in his place.

Midfielder Yacouba Sylla - who missed the Arsenal game due to a twisted ankle - should return, while midfielder Chris Herd (calf) is still not quite ready to return to action.
