Gregan through to 400m semi-finals

Brian Gregan has qualified for the semi-finals of the 400 metres at the World Athletics Championships in Moscow.

The Clonliffe Harriers athlete finished sixth in his heat but made it through to the next round on account of being one of the four fastest qualifiers.

Gregan qualified in a time of 46.04, just half a second slower than his personal best 45.53.

The former European Under-23 silver medallist will run in the opening semi-final in lane 2 on Monday evening at 8:05pm.

Ireland's Tori Pena takes part in the women's Pole Vault qualifying competition later on Sunday afternoon.
