Sligo look to maintain title challenge

Sligo Rovers will look to maintain their push to defend their Airtricity League title as they entertain Bray Wanderers at the Showgrounds tonight, kick-off 7:45pm.

Rovers have Gavin Peers suspended, while Ross Gaynor and Iarfhlaith Davoren (both knee) are also ruled out.

David McMillan is very doubtful due to an infection and has not trained this week but Danny Ventre and Aaron Greene returned to training this week and are back in the match-day squad.

Sligo's Alan Keane is in line to make the 200th league appearance of his career, if selected.

Ismahil Akinade will be the only Bray absentee for the trip as he serves a one-match ban, while Shane O'Connor returns after missing the last two games through injury.

Sligo won the earlier meeting at the Showgrounds 3-0 but were held to a scoreless draw at the Carlisle Grounds.

Bit O'Red manager Ian Baraclough said: "All areas of our game were strong against Derry. We attacked well, threatened in wide areas, we were strong down the middle and defended solidly throughout. It was an excellent performance.

"We have to make sure we go out and produce the same type of display against Bray. The group are in good form, we are in a good place mentally and ready for the challenge in store this weekend.

"I expect Bray will try to frustrate us and get men behind the ball. We are likely to command a lot of possession and have to make good use of it.

"Bray are a danger when breaking forward, they're very well organised as we have discovered before and it will be another test for ourselves at home."
