Italian Daniele Ratto (Cannondale) has won stage 14 of la Vuelta a Espana in a breakaway from the main peloton.
Ratto's compatriot Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) finished second, 3:53 behind the stage winner, to extend his lead in the general classification.
Ireland's Nicolas Roche (Saxo Tinkoff) finished 20th on the stage, 7:22 behind Ratto. That finish means Roche drops to sixth overall, 4:06 off the race lead.
Ratto won the stage in wet and windy conditions at Collada de la Gallina in Andorra having been part of an early breakaway in the stage.
Nibali and GC contender Chris Horner (Radioshack) were next home as they broke away to finish second and third. Horner moves up to second overall.
Roche couldn've live with the pace and suffered huge losses in his GC challenge.
Horner lies 50 seconds behind Nibali, with Alejandro Valverde third, 1:42 behind.
