Kerry's O'Sullivan set for double hip surgery

Kerry's Darran O'Sullivan is to undergo surgery on both hips and is set to miss part of the Kingdom's 2014 Allianz League campaign.

The Glenbeigh-Glencar clubman will have the operation this week, and if it goes well, he'll return for a second operation within a month.

O'Sullivan has been troubled by the injury since earlier this year, but nevertheless played a crucial part in Kerry's run in the championship, which ended in defeat to Dublin in a classic All-Ireland semi-final on 1 September.
