PRO12 teams: Fitzgerald centre stage for Leinster

Luke Fitzgerald and Noel Reid will form the centre partnership for Leinster in their RaboDirect PRO12 clash with Connacht on Saturday (6.45pm).

Coach Matt O'Connor has opted for a number of changes to the backline from the side that beat Castres last week with Eoin Reddan and Ian Madigan coming in at scrum-half and out-half respectively.

Michael Bent will make his first start this season in the front row.

New signing Zane Kirchner could be in line for a debut as he is named among the replacements.

There are three changes to the Connacht team that defeated Zebre 33-6 in last week's Heineken Cup encounter.

Danie Poolman, who was forced to withdraw late this week due to a tight hamstring, is replaced on the right wing by Tiernan O'Halloran. Mayo-man Gavin Duffy returns to fullback, replacing the injured James So'oialo.

Up front, Andrew Browne moves to the bench and makes way for last week's try scorer Mata Fifita at blindside flanker.

On the bench, hooker Dave Heffernan is in line to make his first senior appearance in the number two jersey.

Utility back Daragh Leader is another addition to the matchday squad. The 20-year-old from Galway made his first senior appearance away to Ospreys this time last year.

Stuart Olding starts his first game for Ulster when the province takes on Cardiff at Ravenhill on Friday, kick-off, 7.05pm..

Olding has been picked at full-back, with Jared Payne moving to outside centre.

Mike McComish, man-of-the-match for the Ulster Ravens against Jersey last week, is on the bench in place of Iain Henderson who will be out for up to six weeks with a toe injury.

All Black tighthead prop John Afoa will start in place of Declan Fitzpatrick who has failed a late fitness test.

Ricky Lutton comes in on the bench as a front-row replacement.
