Walters and Westwood withdraw from Ireland squad

Jon Walters has withdrawn from the Republic of Ireland squad to face Germany and Kazakhstan due to a groin injury.

The Stoke forward was substituted after 70 minutes of their Premier League defeat to Fulham yesterday.

Leeds United's Paul Green has been called up in his place.

Sunderland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has also withdrawn to receive medical treatment during the international window and will be replaced by Stephen Henderson, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth from West Ham.
