All-Ireland champions Clare and Allianz League champions Kilkenny will clash on the opening weekend of the National Hurling League.
The GAA have fixed the mouth-watering tie for Cusack Park in Ennis on Sunday 16 February.
The opening matches also see Tipperary host Waterford, while Dublin travel to Galway in an unchanged Division 1A.
The GAA released a provisional fixture list yesterday, subject to approval from county boards, just a few days after confirming there would be no major change to the league structures.
Beaten All-Ireland finalists Cork will host Limerick on Saturday 15 February.
Also in Division 1B, Wexford travel to Antrim and Offaly host Laois in their opening games.
