Keith Earls has been ruled out of Ireland's first autumn Test against Samoa but out-half Jonathan Sexton is fit to play.
The Munster player has patella tendonitis, an injury which recently ruled him out of their recent PRO12 tie with Glasgow.
Racing Metro man Sexton was left on the bench for their Top 14 defeat by Biarritz over the weekend.
He had sustained a minor hip injury during the warm-up to the game.
Paul O'Connell, Cian Healy and Sean O'Brien are all expected to return to full training tomorrow ahead of Saturday's Aviva Stadium clash with Manu Samoa (5.45pm)
