Keane on MLS player of year shortlist

Ireland captain Robbie Keane has been named on the three-man shortlist for the MLS player of the year.

Keane scored 16 goals in 23 games for LA Galaxy during the season and the Dubliner joins Montreal Impact's former Italy striker Marco Di Vaio and Chicago Fire's Mike Magee as a finalist for the award.

Meanwhile, it is believed that Ireland manager Martin O' Neill is looking for Ireland to play two friendlies in the USA next summer, with games being lined up against countries that have qualified for the upcoming World Cup finals.
