Bobs Worth is under consideration for the Bibby Financial Services Punchestown Gold Cup on 30 April.
The 2013 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner could only finish fifth when defending his Prestbury Park crown and unbeaten record at the track last month, but is reported to be none the worse since and could be prepared for the Grade One feature.
Trainer Nicky Henderson could also saddle last year's Punchestown Gold Cup runner-up Long Run, who fell in last weekend's Grand National at Aintree.
Henderson said: "We have given Bobs Worth an entry and we will see nearer the race whether we go to Punchestown.
"We have actually done very little with him since his run at Cheltenham and we've got a bit of time to decide whether we bring him over.
"I always enjoy Punchestown and had a fantastic time there last year with Sprinter Sacre."
Ireland's champion trainer Willie Mullins is set to be represented in the €200,000 contest by both Cheltenham Gold Cup runner-up On His Own and last week's Melling Chase-winning stable companion Boston Bob.
The Tom Taaffe-trained Argocat and First Lieutenant from Mouse Morris' stable are other possible starters having finished third and fourth respectively in the Betfred Bowl at Aintree.
Also among 18 entries are the Kim Bailey-trained Harry Topper, winner of the Argento Chase at Cheltenham in January, the Paul Nicholls-trained Bury Parade and Lyreen Legend from Dessie Hughes' stable.
