Tom Court has been banned for two games following his red card received against Leinster last Friday.
Court is banned until midnight on Sunday, 18 May and will miss Ulster's final Pro12 regular season game against Munster on Saturday, and their semi-final. He would be available for the final on 31 May should Ulster win that semi-final.
Court was shown a red card after a tackle on Leinster's Devin Toner. He appeared before an independent Pro12 disciplinary committee in Wales on Thursday.
The committee decided that the offence, a dangerous "lifting' tackle contrary to IRB Law 10.4(j), was at the low end of the IRB's scale of sanctions for this type of offence, so Court was initially given a four-week ban.
The committee added a week to this ban as a "deterrent factor", but reduced the sanction by three weeks, to reflect, among other factors, Court's acceptance of the red card and his previous excellent disciplinary record.
