A scintillating display of accurate shooting from Paul Mannion and Conor McHugh powered Dublin to their third All Ireland under-21 football championship title in five years as the two attackers contributed a combined 1-15 in the 1-21 to 3-06 victory for Dessie Farrell's men at O'Connor Park in Tullamore.
The damage was done in the first half when Dublin scored 13 times without reply after Mannion and Ultan Harney traded points in the first two minutes.
Second-half goals from Diarmuid Murtagh (twice) and Ciaran Kilcline gave the massive Roscommon support something to cheer in the second half but the result was never in doubt despite their efforts.
The Dubs were cruising at the break, 0-14 to just 0-01 ahead but three second-half goals, including two from Diarmuid Murtagh gave Roscommon hope.
Dublin steadied themselves and re-established their dominance however, holding on comfortably to regain the title they won in 2012.
