GAA teams: Three new players for Roscommon

Roscommon manager John Evans has handed Championship debuts to three players for Sunday's Connacht Football quarter-final against Leitrim at Dr. Hyde Park.

Ciarán Cafferky, Ronan Stack and Ciaráin Murtagh will taste action in the provincial Championship for the first time.

It is just one change from the side that defeated Cavan in the Allianz League Division III final on 26 April in Croke Park, with Stack coming into the team at left half-forward.

Roscommon team to play Leitrim: D O'Malley; S McDermott, N Carthy (captain), N Collins; D Keenan, N Daly, C Cafferkey; C Shine, K Higgins; D O'Gara, D Shine, R Stack; S Kilbride, C Cregg, C Murtagh.

After a recent heart scare, Westmeath attacker Lorcan Smyth will be available for selection ahead of Saturday's Leinster SFC preliminary round clash with Louth in Mullingar.

The Mullingar Shamrocks player, who missed the county's Division 1 league campaign, underwent a routine cardiac screening for a minor heart abnormality. However, he has now been given the green light to resume his inter-county career.

Westmeath boss Paul Bealin will also have John Heslin and Denis Corroon available as the midlanders bid to clear the first hurdle in their Leinster campaign and so set up a meeting with Kildare in the next round.
