Cruciate woe for Roscommon's Shine

Roscommon have been rocked by the news that Donie Shine is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury.

The Clan Na Gael forward went off injured during Roscomon's narrow defeat to Mayo last Sunday and today tweeted that he had ruptured his posterior cruciate ligament.

Shine is likely to need the rest of the year for recovery, depending on whether surgery is required.

He has been a key member of the Rossies attack in recent seasons and was nominated for an All Star in 2010.
