McIlroy off to solid start at Scottish Open

Rory McIlory got off to a solid start at the Scottish opening after carding an opening-round seven-under 64.

The Holywood golfer shot just one bogey and had eight birdies at Royal Aberdeen.

Michael Hoey is also well-placed after a five-under 66, while Darren Clarke and Kevin Phelan had rounds of 69.

Padraig Harrington shot a level-par 71.
