Ireland's Fiona Doyle has qualified for the semi-finals of the 100 metres breaststroke at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin.
Doyle finished fourth in her heat in one minute 8.77 seconds but wasn't happy with her placing of tenth overall, citing nerves as the reason for what she perceived as a performance that was not up to standard.
The Portmarnock swimmer's semi-final gets underway at the Europa-Sportpark at 5.38pm (Irish time).
There was disappointment for Sycerika McMahon in the same event as she finished fifth in her heat in a time of 1:09.23, missing out on a place in the top 16 by four hundredths of a second.
The 19-year-old is the first reserve for the semi-finals after clocking here fastest swim of the season, but continues to struggle to recapture the form she showed in 2012.
Brendan Hyland was back in action in the heats of the men's 200m freestyle but predictably failed to advance.
The butterfly specialist, who finished sixth in his heat in 1:53.96, used the event to add to his international experience and enjoy some pool time ahead of tomorrow's 200m butterfly.
