Paul O'Connell and Conor Murray are in line to make their first appearances of the season for Munster in Friday's Pro12 game against Zebre in Thomond Park.
Along with fellow Summer tourist to Australia, Dave Kilcoyne, O'Connell and Murray have been continuing a delayed pre-season program and are set to be re-introduced to the Munster set-up; so too is JJ Hanrahan, who was part of the emerging Ireland squad that took part in the Nations Cup in Romania.
After last Friday's win over Treviso, Munster reported a clean bill of health, and will be looking to kick on from that win against Zebre.
There was another positive development for Munster with the news that Argentinian hooker Eusebio Guinazu has secured a work permit and is currently making final travel arrangements. However, Guinazu will not be available for selection this weekend.
Munster captain Peter O'Mahony is making good progress as he continues his recovery from reconstructive shoulder surgery, and has resumed some light contact, the province said, and wingers Keith Earls, Luke O'Dea and Gerhard van den Heever (all knee) have progressed to running in training.
