Leinster have confirmed Ben Te'o fractured his forearm in last night's Pro12 game and will be operated on today.
An update on the extent of time Te'o will be unavailable for is expected in the coming days, but the former Queensland centre will now face a race to be fit in time for Leinster's crucial Champions Cup clashes with Harlequins in December.
The first of those games is on 7 December.
A high-profile summer signing, Te'o lasted just 19 minutes after making his debut in Leinster's comfortable 33-8 win over Edinburgh before being forced off.
The 27-year-old signing from the South Sydney Rabbitohs had been signed to provide options at centre, and his loss is a further headache for Leinster as they try to deal with a raft of injuries.
