The countdown has begun to the announcement of the winners of the RTÉ Sport Sports Person and Manager of the Year awards, which will be revealed live on RTÉ One at 9.30pm tonight.
A Hall of Fame Award and Sport Team of the Year will be also presented at the RTÉ Sport Awards, in association with The Irish Sports Council, which are being held at RTÉ studios in Dublin.
World number one golfer Rory McIlroy, Ireland soccer international Seamus Coleman, world champion boxers Katie Taylor and Carl Frampton and eight other nominees are in contention for the Sports Person award.
Manager of the Year nominees include Kilkenny hurling boss Brian Cody, horse trainers Jim Culloty and Aidan O'Brien, Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley, Ireland rugby head coach Joe Schmidt and five other nominees.
