Racing at Leopardstown and Limerick this afternoon goes ahead following precautionary inspections due to the threat of frost.

However, officials will continue to monitor the chase track, which is in part currently unraceable.

The track tweeted: "Parts of the chase track are currently unraceable and will be monitored through the morning as temps change.

"We are optimistic chases will take place. Forecast: cold and frosty this morning, becoming sunny later.

"New fresh track for the hurdle races will be provided on the inside line."

The going on the hurdles track is soft, with the chase course described as soft to heavy.

The main event is scheduled for 1.25pm, with Hurricane Fly and Jezki facing off for the sixth time in the Ryanair Hurdle.

The score currently stands at three to two in the favour of Hurricane Fly.

Racing at Limerick this afternoon goes ahead as planned.

Officials made a precautionary early-morning check of the track due to the threat of frost, and were able to give a positive outcome for the last of four days of racing over Christmas.

The Grade Three Cliona's Foundation Novice Hurdle is the feature event on the seven-race card.
