Sadler's Risk disqualified due to weight mix-up

Sadler's Risk was disqualified when jockey Andrew Lynch was not allotted the correct riding weight after passing the post in front in the Free Festival Upgrade Ticket Offer Hurdle at Punchestown.

With 7-4 favourite Jennies Jewel exiting the feature event before the halfway stage, the Henry de Bromhead-trained Sadler's Risk was left in front.

He'llberemembered emerged as the main threat from the home turn and both horses fought tooth and nail to the line, with 7-2 chance Sadler's Risk digging deep to hold on by a head.

However, it emerged shortly after the race had finished that the clerk of the scales had weighted out Lynch 4lb lighter than he should have been.

The stewards had little option but to disqualify him and hand victory to Paul Fahey's 33-1 shot He'llberemembered, with Sadler's Risk placed last.

Speaking before the result of the enquiry, De Bromhead said: "He battled really well and Andrew gave him a super ride.

"The main aim will be the World Hurdle back here in April. He doesn't seem to like Cheltenham and his only poor run for us was in the Coral Cup.

"He may go for the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park next month if that doesn't come too soon.

"He won his beginners' chase at Roscommon impressively and it's possible he could go back over fences for something like the (Galway) Plate in the summer."

Golden Ticket edged ahead close home in the Punchestown.com Handicap Chase.

The Christy Roche-trained gelding unseated conditional jockey Jody McGarvey at Thurles recently and was a 14-1 shot for his latest assignment.

Having been given plenty of time to get into a rhythm, Golden Ticket moved ominously into contention heading down the back straight before he was ridden to challenge soon after the home turn.

Heavenly Brook did his best to shake off the attentions of the chasing pack, but McGarvey's mount wore him down on the run to the final fence and ran on to take top honours by half a length.

Heavenly Brook was filling the runner-up spot for the fifth time in succession.

Frank Berry, racing manager for winning owner JP McManus, said: "Jody gave him a grand ride and it made up for Thurles the last day where they parted company.

"We'll find another little race for him somewhere."

The Job Is Right stuck to his guns to get off the mark over fences in the Buy Your 2015 Annual Membership Beginners Chase.

Michael Hourigan's six-year-old was turning out just four days after running a tremendous race to finish fourth in the valuable Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown and was a 9-4 chance in the hands of Mark Enright.

As De Ferbet looked set to deliver for odds-on backers when cruising to the lead rounding the home turn under Bryan Cooper, with Enright hard at work, but The Job Is Right showed plenty of heart to reel him in after jumping the final fence.

Hourigan said: "He jumped well and likes to be up with the pace. When he woke him up he was very good at the last.

"I agonised over whether to run him so soon after Leopardstown. He lost no weight and was very fresh the morning after. When I saw there were only a few declared I decided to take a chance.

"The four-miler at Cheltenham (National Hunt Chase) is in my head, but it's a long way off.

"He wants every yard of three miles plus and I think there is a big day in him some day."
