Kildare manager Jason Ryan has confirmed that Daniel Flynn will return to the Lilywhites panel, as the Johnstownbridge man has returned from a stint in Australia with AFL side Port Adelaide.
Flynn signed a two-year deal with the South Australian side in October 2013 but has now returned home and should hook up with the Kildare panel over the next few weeks.
Speaking in today's Irish Times, Ryan said: "He's not in the panel at the moment, but we're talking and meeting and everything, we speak regularly and his return is something that will fall into place.
"I suppose he's settling back into normal life now, and he is doing a bit of training with his club and a bit of his own training, so hopefully he'll be back training with us in the next few weeks."
Flynn leaves Adelaide without making an AFL appearance but Ryan believes that his time in Australia will have improved him as a player.
Ryan added: "You'd imagine he'd have learnt an awful lot, about honing certain skills, and a lot physically after exploring a professional lifestyle. So he should be a great addition."
Meanwhile, Kildare midfielder Tommy Moolick looks set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury, playing for UCD against Kildare at the weekend.
