The FAI has confirmed that Roy Keane is to resume his role as a football analyst with ITV.

A spokesman for the association said that the Ireland assistant manager would be on TV duty for Chelsea's Champions League round-of-16 tie with PSG on 17 February but that further commitments are not confirmed at this stage.

The Daily Mail reported that the ex-Manchester United captain would resume his role for the game in Paris, and continue on a game-by-game basis.

Last November the ex-Celtic and Nottingham Forest midfielder resigned as Paul Lambert's number two at Aston Villa, citing the time constraints of combining two assistant jobs.

"Ultimately, my roles with Villa and Ireland and combining my commitment to these have become too much. It isn't fair to either Villa or Ireland, so I've made this decision," he said.

Keane worked as an analyst for ITV up until the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when he quit the station, saying that he wanted to focus on coaching.
