Model's Faithful famine ends in Tullamore

Offaly 0-12 Wexford 2-15

Wexford recorded their first competitive senior hurling win on Offaly soil for 42 years this afternoon when they eventually overcame a game, but limited, home side by 2-15 to 0-12 at O'Connor Park.

A first-half goal from Jack Guiney helped Wexford into a 1-08 to 0-07 interval lead after hurling against the wind, but fourteen second-half wides from the Slaneysiders left Offaly in touch throughout the second half until Podge Doran wrapped up the win with a late goal.
