Two second-half goals were enough for Cork City to see off the challenge of Waterford United in the second round of the EA Sports Cup at the RSC.

Ross Gaynor's penalty just after the restart put the Leesiders ahead after Mark O'Sullivan was fouled in the box.

Cork midfielder Gavan Holohan was sent off in the 65th minute after receiving a second booking but the ten men doubled their advantage when Robert Lehane got on the end of Kieran Djilali's pass with 12 minutes to play.
