The 36-strong Irish team has departed for the European Cross Country Championships in Somokov, Bulgaria.
Sunday's event is the 21st edition of the championships and Ireland will have athletes in the men's and women's junior, Under-23 and senior races.
Two-time European champion Fionnuala Britton heads up the senior women's team as she bids to reclaim a podium position after placing fourth in the 2013 event.
In competing in Bulgaria, the Wicklow women receives her 31st cap for Ireland to place her third on the all-time list of International appearances.
She will, however, face tough battle on Sunday with defending champion Sophie Duarte of France, Gemma Steel from Great Britain and Portugal's Sara Moreira all in the line-up.
The course in Somokov is challenging, with a slight altitude of 1,350 metres.
