Bethany Firth has won a silver medal at the IPC World Swimming Championships in Montreal.
The 17-year-old finished second in the final of the S14 200m freestyle final behind Britain's Jessica-Jane Applegate who took gold in a world record time of 2:09.98.
Firth posted a personal best time of 2:11.91 over 1.5 seconds ahead of bronze medal winner Taylor Corry from Australia.
Next up for Firth is the 100m backstroke on Wednesday, an event in which she won gold at the Paralympic Games in London.
Ellen Keane is next in the pool for Ireland, racing in the 50m freestyle S9 and 200m individual medley SM9 later this afternoon.
James Scully is also in action this afternoon, going in the 200m freestyle S5.
