Newcastle and Liverpool get the weekend's Barclays Premier League action under way with a Saturday lunchtime kick-off.

SATURDAY 19 OCTOBER

Newcastle v Liverpool, 12.45pm

Argentina internationals Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez will miss the visit of Liverpool.

Central defender Coloccini has been ruled out with a groin injury, while midfielder Gutierrez has been allowed to return to his native country for personal reasons.

Fabricio Coloccini

Steven Taylor, a potential replacement for Coloccini, is unlikely to have recovered in time from a hamstring problem, so Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa is in line to start alongside Mike Williamson.

Newcastle squad: Krul, Elliot, Debuchy, Yanga-Mbiwa, Williamson, Good, Santon, Dummett, Tiote, Anita, Cabaye, Marveaux, Sissoko, Ben Arfa, Sammy Ameobi, Bigirimana, Vuckic, Cisse, Remy, Gouffran, Shola Ameobi.

Defenders Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho return to Liverpool's squad after lengthy injury lay-offs.

Wales international Joe Allen is also back after a hamstring problem while fellow midfielder Lucas Leiva is included after serving a one-match suspension last time out.

Only Philippe Coutinho (shoulder) prevents manager Brendan Rodgers selecting from a fully-fit squad.

Liverpool squad: Mignolet, Johnson, Toure, Skrtel, Sakho, Enrique, Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson, Suarez, Sturridge, Jones, Kelly, Agger, Wisdom, Ilori, Sterling, Allen, Moses, Alberto, Ibe, Aspas.

Arsenal v Norwich 3pm

League leaders Arsenal expect Mesut Ozil to have recovered from a knee injury in time to face Norwich.

Midfielder Santi Cazorla could also return for the first time since September following an ankle injury, while full-back Bacary Sagna (hamstring) may also be involved.

Forward Theo Walcott (abdominal), Yaya Sanogo (back), Lukas Podolski (hamstring), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Abou Diaby (both knee) are all still recovering.

Arsenal squad: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Flamini, Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere, Arteta, Giroud, Fabianski, Jenkinson, Bendtner, Rosicky, Monreal, Miyaichi, Gnabry, Vermaelen, Cazorla.

Forward Anthony Pilkington is doubtful for Norwich.

Pilkington made an early return from international duty with the Republic of Ireland due to a hamstring injury, but boss Chris Hughton is optimistic he will be fit.

Hughton will assess a number of other knocks ahead of the trip to the Emirates Stadium.

Norwich squad: Ruddy, Whittaker, Martin, Turner, Garrido, Howson, Johnson, Redmond, Hoolahan, Van Wolfswinkel, Snodgrass, Elmander, Fer, Bassong, Pilkington, Bunn, Becchio, Hooper, Olsson, Ryan Bennett, Ayala, Tettey, Murphy.

Chelsea v Cardiff 3pm

Striker Fernando Torres could return from a knee injury sooner than expected for Chelsea, but Ashley Cole (ribs) and Andre Schurrle (leg) are out.

Torres, who was expected to be sidelined for three weeks and also served a suspension at Norwich, is back in contention, but left-back Cole, who missed England's recent matches, is set to be replaced by Ryan Bertrand.

Ryan Bertrand

Forward Schurrle is not fit despite performing well with Germany, while goalkeeper Petr Cech is expected to make his 300th Chelsea appearance.

Chelsea squad: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, Torres, Mata, Oscar, Mikel, De Bruyne, Hazard, Ba, Willian, Schwarzer, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta, Eto'o, Bertrand.

Striker Andreas Cornelius remains the only injury absentee as Cardiff look to move on from recent off-field events.

The Dane has been sidelined since the Capital One Cup win against Accrington in August, but manager Malky Mackay has made it clear he will not rush his return to action.

Mackay may again decide to choose Peter Odemwingie over Craig Bellamy in attack following the latter's exertions during his final two appearances for Wales over the international break, while Jordon Mutch is in contention for a midfield berth.

Cardiff squad: Marshall, Connolly, Taylor, Caulker, Hudson, Turner, Whittingham, Cowie, Medel, Campbell, Brayford, Kim, Smith, Gestede, Noone, Gunnarsson, Mutch, Odemwingie, Mason, Maynard, Lewis, Moore, Bellamy, Theophile-Catherine.

Everton v Hull 3pm

Ireland midfielder Darron Gibson has been ruled out for several months after rupturing a cruciate knee ligament on international duty.

Steven Pienaar is still a week away from full recovery from a hamstring injury and will not be considered for the visit of Hull.

Defender Antolin Alcaraz is making good progress from a hernia problem but is still at least three weeks away from joining the squad while on-loan midfielder Gareth Barry returns after being ineligible to face Manchester City before the break.

Everton squad: Howard, Coleman, Distin, Jagielka, Baines, Mirallas, McCarthy, Barry, Osman, Barkley, Lukaku, Robles, Stones, Heitinga, Jelavic, Kone, Deulofeu, Oviedo.

Hull's top-scorer Robbie Brady is set for a swift return to the squad having missed only one match since undergoing a hernia operation.

The Irishman has recovered well over the international break and Tigers manager Steve Bruce is hopeful he can play some part against Everton on Saturday.

Ahmed Elmohamady, Gedo and Maynor Figueroa all had long journeys back from international duty and will be assessed for match fitness, while Robert Koren (fractured foot) and James Chester (hamstring) are still out.

Hull squad: McGregor, Harper, McShane, Faye, Davies, Rosenior, Elmohamady, Bruce, Boyd, Quinn, Brady, Huddlestone, Livermore, Meyler, Graham, Aluko, Sagbo, Gedo.

Manchester United v Southampton 3pm

Artur Boruc and Luke Shaw are both in contention for Southampton.

Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino expects Boruc to start again in goal, despite the Poland team physio claiming he suffered a hamstring injury during the international break.

Shaw was unable to link up with the England Under-21s due to illness but is also in contention, while Gaston Ramirez will be assessed after arriving back from international duty with Uruguay late on Thursday.

Southampton squad: Boruc, K Davis, Gazzaniga, Clyne, Chambers, Shaw, Fox, Lovren, Hooiveld, Yoshida, Fonte, Schneiderlin, Cork, S Davis, Ward-Prowse, Wanyama, Lallana, Rodriguez, Ramirez, Do Prado, Osvaldo, Lambert, Lee.

United manager David Moyes will assess the fitness of his international stars before settling on his line-up.

Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney look certain to start in attack after both scored during the international break but Tom Cleverley is likely to miss out after picking up a calf injury prior to England's victory over Montenegro.

Moyes' major decision appears to revolve around 18-year-old Adnan Januzaj, who netted a match-winning brace on his full Premier League debut at Sunderland a fortnight ago.

United squad: De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Nani, Fellaini, Carrick, Giggs, Anderson, Young, Zaha, Januzaj, Kagawa, Rooney, Van Persie, Welbeck, Hernandez.

Stoke v West Brom 3pm

West Brom head coach Steve Clarke hopes to have a largely injury-free squad at his disposal for the trip to Stoke.

All of his international players returned from the recent break without reporting any notable problems, with only Uruguayan defender Diego Lugano yet to return to be assessed.

Clarke, therefore, only has two definite absentees in the shape of goalkeeper Ben Foster (foot) and winger Scott Sinclair (hamstring). Matej Vydra, Victor Anichebe, Shane Long and Zoltan Gera are all available after recent injuries.

Shane Long

West Brom squad: Myhill, Daniels, Reid, Olsson, Popov, Ridgewell, Lugano, McAuley, Dawson, Jones, Yacob, Morrison, Brunt, Dorrans, Amalfitano, Mulumbu, Gera, Rosenberg, Long, Anichebe, Sessegnon, Berahino, Vydra, Anelka.

Geoff Cameron is Stoke's only doubt.

The full-back picked up a calf problem while on international duty with the United States and will be assessed by Potters boss Mark Hughes ahead of the Albion match.

Forward Jon Walters pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan due to a groin complaint but he is fit to feature for Stoke on Saturday.

Stoke squad: Begovic, Sorensen, Cameron, Pieters, Wilkinson, Huth, Shawcross, Wilson, Whelan, Arnautovic, Ireland, Nzonzi, Assaidi, Adam, Palacios, Shea, Etherington, Pennant, Walters, Jones, Crouch.

Swansea v Sunderland 3pm

Swansea captain Ashley Williams will again be missing when the Welsh club host Sunderland.

The defender is still on the sidelines due to an ankle ligament injury, while left-back Ben Davies is a doubt as a result of the hamstring injury he picked up against Southampton.

But Michel Vorm (hand), Pablo Hernandez (hamstring) and Jonathan de Guzman (groin) are all set to feature after overcoming their various ailments.

Swansea squad: Vorm, Amat, Taylor, Flores, Britton, Shelvey, Michu, Bony, Hernandez, Dyer, Lamah, Routledge, Monk, Tiendalli, De Guzman, Canas, Rangel, Pozuelo, Tremmel, Vazquez, Davies.

Striker Steven Fletcher will return to the Sunderland squad for the trip.

The Scotland international has missed the last three games with a shoulder injury, but is back ahead of schedule and is in line to play some part in new manager Gus Poyet's first game in charge.

There could be places in the squad too for goalkeeper Keiren Westwood and defenders Wes Brown and Phil Bardsley after shoulder, calf and foot injuries respectively, but midfielder Ki Sung-yueng is ineligible to play against his parent club.

Sunderland squad: Westwood, Mannone, Celustka, Bardsley, Cuellar, O'Shea, Brown, Diakite, Roberge, Colback, Cattermole, Cabral, Gardner, Giaccherini, Johnson, Larsson, Ba, Karlsson, Vaughan, Mavrias, Fletcher, Altidore, Wickham, Borini, Ji.

West Ham v Manchester City 3pm

West Ham defender James Collins will miss the visit of City on Saturday evening after suffering an injury on international duty.

The 30-year-old was replaced just before the hour in Wales' 1-1 draw with Belgium in midweek and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce confirmed he has a hamstring injury.

He joins Andy Carroll (heel) and Alou Diarra (knee) on the sidelines whilst Carlton Cole, who rejoined the club on a short-term deal last week, is not fit enough to be involved.

West Ham squad: Jaaskelainen, Adrian, Demel, Rat, McCartney, O'Brien, Tomkins, Reid, Nolan, Diame, Collison, Lee, J Cole, Morrison, Jarvis, Downing, Taylor, Vaz Te, Maiga, Petric.

City captain Vincent Kompany (thigh) has been ruled out.

The Belgium defender is making good progress but will not be risked while fellow centre-back Martin Demichelis (knee), who is still to make his debut, is also not yet fit.

Midfielder Jack Rodwell (hamstring) is back in contention after a recent spell on the sidelines.

Man City squad: Hart, Pantilimon, Zabaleta, Richards, Lescott, Nastasic, Boyata, Kolarov, Clichy, Nasri, Silva, Milner, Navas, Toure, Fernandinho, Garcia, Rodwell, Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko, Jovetic.

SUNDAY 20 OCTOBER

Aston Villa v Tottenham 4pm

Paul Lambert is assessing Christian Benteke's fitness before deciding whether to throw the striker back into action.

Christian Benteke

The Belgium international has been out since September with a hip injury but trained with his country earlier this week and was an unused substitute in their match against Wales on Tuesday.

Manager Lambert will look at his other international stars ahead of the match following their return to the midlands this week, but Jores Okore (cruciate ligament) and midfielder Charles N'Zogbia (Achilles) are long-term casualties.

Villa squad: Guzan, Steer, Baker, Bennett, Vlaar, Clark, Luna, Lowton, Bacuna, El Ahmadi, Delph, Westwood, Herd, Sylla, Tonev, Kozak, Helenius, Weimann, Benteke, Agbonlahor, Bowery.

Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon has recovered from a foot injury and is in contention.

Left-back Danny Rose (toe) and midfielder Etienne Capoue (ankle) are out until next week.
Defender Younes Kaboul is doubtful because of an adductor injury.

Spurs squad: Lloris, Friedel, Gomes, Walker, Naughton, Dawson, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Chiriches, Fryers, Capoue, Sandro, Dembele, Eriksen, Paulinho, Holtby, Townsend, Lennon, Chadli, Sigurdsson, Lamela, Soldado, Defoe, Kane, Adebayor.

MONDAY 21 OCTOBER

Crystal Palace v Fulham 8pm

Scott Parker could be back in Fulham's line-up for their match at Crystal Palace on Monday.

The midfielder has been sidelined with a calf problem, but subject to a fitness assessment, will make a welcome return to Martin Jol's squad.

Defender Aaron Hughes will also train with the squad ahead of the fixture as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury, and the manager has also declared Adel Taarabt fit after the recent international matches.

Fulham squad: Stockdale, Richardson, Hangeland, Riether, Amorebieta, Sidwell, Karagounis, Parker, Kacaniklic, Ruiz, Kasami, Bent, Taarabt, Berbatov, Etheridge, Senderos, Zverotic, Rodallega.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has no fresh injury concerns.

Yannick Bolasie is pushing for a first league start, having come off the bench in the 3-1 defeat at Liverpool before the international break.

Club captain Paddy McCarthy has returned to training after a prolonged spell on the sidelines with a groin injury, but Glenn Murray (knee) remains absent.

Palace squad: Speroni, Gabbidon, Moxey, Delaney, Mariappa, Campana, Guedioura, Bannan, Thomas, Jedinak, Dikgacoi, Chamakh, Jerome, Gayle, Puncheon, O'Keefe, Bolasie, Phillips, Kebe, Price.
