Tipperary to face Kilkenny or Galway in qualifiers

Tipperary will host the losers of the Kilkenny-Galway Leinster semi-final replay following the draw for round 1 of the All-Ireland hurling qualifiers.

The game will take place on Saturday, 5 July at Semple Stadium. Throw-in at 7pm.

The Cats and Galway played out an epic draw on Sunday and will replay on Saturday next.

2010 champions Tipp were beaten in the Munster semi-final by reigning provincial kings Limerick three weeks ago. Kilkenny knocked them out at this stage last year.

The draw, which was made on RTÉ Radio 1's Morning Ireland today, also handed Wexford a tough trip to All-Ireland champions Clare. Last year, the counties met in round 3 of the qualifiers, with the Banner emerging victorious after extra time.

Cusack Park in Ennis will stage the renewal on Saturday week at 3.30pm.

This weekend sees two games down for decision. Waterford welcome Laois to Walsh Park on Saturday evening for a 7pm start.

On Sunday next, Ballycastle is the venue as Antrim welcome Offaly. Throw-in is 2pm.

The eight teams involved were those who had lost in the quarter-final or semi-final stages of the Leinster and Munster hurling championships.

The three Munster teams were deliberately drawn against Leinster teams, while the all-Leinster clash could not be a repeat of an earlier fixture, meaning Antrim could not play Laois or Wexford and Galway (if they lose to Kilkenny) could not play Laois.
