Ulster's Alan O'Connor has been suspended for three weeks for a dangerous tackle on Glasgow's Mark Bennett in his side's 29-9 victory last Saturday.
The 22-year-old Ulster Academy player, who was drafted into the Ulster team following a series of injuries, was cited for a dangerous tackle on Bennett which left the Glasgow man unconscious.
A PRO12 disciplinary committee decided that the offence was on the mid-range of IRB sanctions, carrying a six-week ban but that was reduced to three weeks "in the absence of any aggravating factors and in light of several compelling mitigating factors."
O'Connor will now miss Ulster's Rugby Champions Cup opener away to Leicester Tigers and will be sidelined until 3 November.
The second row forward has the right of appeal.
