Foley rues Munster's lack of ruthlessness

Head coach Anthony Foley said Munster were left with "a lot of frustration in the camp" after allowing Glasgow Warriors to stage a comeback to win their Pro12 clash 21-18 on Saturday.

Munster had started slowly themselves before working their way into a 18-9 half-time lead, but Foley's men failed to score after the interval, and Glasgow came out on top.

Speaking to RTÉ Sport after the game, Foley said his side had been in control but had allowed Glasgow a "sniff" of a comeback, which they duly took.

"We came out in the second half, and they came really hard at us, and we withstood that, we created some opportunities, we didn't take them to extend our lead," Foley said.

"They got a sniff of it with about 20 to go, and from there we were on our heels. Unfortunately for us, we didn't finish this one off.

"When you're away from home, as we've learned in recent times, when you create your opportunities you've got to take them. You've got to be ruthless, and we weren't that tonight."

Next up for Munster is the inter-provincial derby against Leinster on 26 December, and although raising the passion levels should not be a problem going into that game, Foley stressed that it was also important to learn the lessons of Scotstoun ahead of the game.

"It'll be about getting down again, understanding why we lost and where the opportunities are, making sure that we understand that and we can go into the Leinster game, and go in there and hopefully get a result at home."
