Olympians in action at boxing nationals

Olympians Adam Nolan and John Joe Joyce will be in action on the opening night of the 2015 National Elite Championships under way at the National Stadium in Dublin tonight.

London 2012 fighter Nolan takes on Craig McCarthy in the 69kg welterweight division quarter-finals, while Beijing boxer Joyce takes on Fergal Redmond in the same category.

Fomer European Elite champion Ray Moylette is also getting his campaign up and running as he faces Jason Conroy in the 64kg light-welterweight division.

Six-time Irish super heavyweight Con Sheehan did not weigh in as he has decided to turn professional.

Limerick's Moira McElligot and Athlone's Cheyanne O'Neill will get the championships going as they meet in the opening bout of a 16-fight card.

Former European elite champion Ray Moylette and London 2012 and Beijing 2008 Olympians Adam Nolan and John Joe Joyce will also be in action.

Boxing begins at 7pm tonight.
